PHOEBE WILLO – “4AM”

21-year-old singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Phoebe Willo is rising swiftly through the musical ranks, boasting a sound that fulfils indie pop’s criteria whilst touching upon other sub-sounds. Her writing is personal and provoking, capturing her inner-most thoughts and feelings through her sharp and vivid lyricism.

Following a successful crowd-funding campaign that saw her raise over $30,000, Willo has returned to release her gentle and engrossing new single, “4am”. A stripped-back piano-driven instrumental is the serene backdrop for the artist to vocally impress atop of, giving a cascading vocal performance. Lyrically, Willo touches on themes of sentiment towards the past and missed opportunities.

Speaking on the release, Willo shares “I wrote the song when I was up at 4am one morning, it is a song about regret, a missed opportunity, a relationship that could perhaps have developed had I tried a bit harder.”
