OUR FUTURE GHOST – “WE’VE GOT PLACES”

Your Future Ghost is made of our childhood dreams. First meeting years ago on the set of hit TV series One Tree Hill, singer-songwriter, musician, and actress Kate Voegele and songwriter, producer, and actor Michael Grubbs have taken their creative relationship to new heights. Organically developing a unique collaborative indie synth-pop sound unlike their solo projects, yet somehow more themselves than ever, the two artists knew they had something special. And Your Future Ghost was born.

Their debut single, “We’ve Got Places”, is out now — off of their highly anticipated upcoming album. Discussing the need for a safe space and finding comfort in your own corner of this crowded world, it layers harmonies and instrumentals for a complex and compelling first taste of what’s to come. “[The single] is a song about that place where you find refuge from whatever noise is going on in the world,” Voegele explains. “Whether it’s an actual place, a person, or something else, I think we all have those places where we can escape the chaos and be ourselves.”

Grubbs adds, “I would like to encourage folks to accept themselves. Which isn’t easy. I’m like this sadboy emo dude and Kate is this singer-songwriter pop star, and together we’re making this dirty indie album because that’s who we’ve always really been inside.”
